(Caracas, July 9. News24) .- With an operating capacity to generate 300,000 bags per month in the coming days the Food Packaging Center for the Clap will come into service in the facilities of Aduana Aérea located in El Trébol sector, in the state of Vargas
The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, led Monday a commission that inspected the aforementioned building with the Minister of Energy. Popular for food, Luis Alberto Medina; the governor of the litoralense entity, Jorge Luis García Carneiro and the mayor of the municipality of Vargas, José Alejandro Terán.
"This center is the number 17 that will be launched nationwide and will provide the capital, the state of Vargas, and the state of Miranda. (…) Here, 30 000 bags of food a day will be packed. We must remember that President Nicolás Maduro announced that we were going to a process of expansion of the Clap, including what relates to the "Food supply," he said, and finishing the infrastructure that includes several spaces, a main room for packing, a room for calculations, loading and unloading areas and a surveillance building for the ships arriving at the port of La Guaira.In the shops will work 172 people (104 FANB and 68 Mercal).
"Here in this center we see the joint effort of organized communities, missions like Chamba Juvenil and those related to food, regional and local government jointly to provide food for the people, "said the Vice-President.
Minister Medina explained that each integral combination will consist of 10 items of the basic basket (oil, pre-cooked flour, sugar, rice, pasta, cereals, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, cans of tuna and milk) that translate into 15 or 16 kilos of products.
"We want to bring this combo to a higher weight, almost 23 kilograms and that's what we will achieve by adding animal protein and vegetables to the bags through the Hogares de la Patria system", he said.
He added that he is currently equipping other similar centers in different countries. States of the country, which should be inaugurated in the following months
