The launch of Mortal Kombat 11 has caused a wave of negative criticisms of the abusive practices of the development society, Netherrealm, realized with his workers.
USGamer has developed a report where up to four people, hired before MK 11, offered their testimony and described what is going on behind the scenes of Netherrealm.
These four people said that the workplace was disastrous and that stress was their motto. On the other hand, they indicate that the bosses took advantage of it, workers who were looking for only a fixed position and who, unfortunately, never arrived. NetherRealm's action is to temporarily hire people through subcontractors who, once pressed for satiety, launch them without further explanation.
They said they even saw two workers "collapse because they could not continue". It should be noted that some of these temporary employees worked in windowless rooms, which is described as "a renovated box-shaped garage filled with temporary workers".
The number of people working on the project was huge, but this only increased the pressure to be competitive and secure a position in the non-temporary company. It was also indicated that some of the Fatalities who were seen in the games were created by these workers themselves, who, despite their success, did not get the job they deserved in the company and were fired after their contract.
It seems that these practices in video games are still commonplace, although they are starting to denounce themselves with more fervor. We hope that the magnatarios of these companies begin to realize that they must evolve.
