A school in Falkenberg (Sweden) included in its school curriculum a #MeToo movement course that denounces allegations of sexual abuse in the entertainment industry, local media reported.
The new academic program requires all students aged 15 to follow two hours of teaching on this question that the school considers relevant to instill in young people that the message of this social movement is not only about Hollywood.
"They already know a lot about the #MeToo movement, but they find it hard to understand that it affects them too," said Anna-Karin Nilsson, a teacher of civic education at the center, explaining that educational discussions are divided between boys. and girls. girls so that men do not feel attacked or guilty. The #MeToo movement began in October of last year after this viralized social media hashtag following accusations by actresses such as Asia Argento and Rose McGowan against American film producer Harvey Weinstein for alleged sexual abuse.
