Among the most famous and successful Colombian telenovelas of all time on the continent is "Yo Soy Betty la Fea", starring Ana María Orozco and Jorge Enrique Abello. Now is great news for all fans of this dramatic representation, since the Spanish-American television channel Telemundo presents a new version, but this time it takes place in New York and has a more contemporary theme.
The screenplay of this series was collaborated by Colombian Fernando Gaitán, original author of "I Am Betty the Ugly", who had been working there for more than a year. On this occasion, the Mexican actress Elyfer Torres, known for her work in productions such as "El Secreto de Selena" or "The Piloto 2", is responsible for giving life to the most darling ugly.
This adaptation is developed in a bilingual form and called "Betty in New York", presented to the media by the television channel Monday in Miami, United States, where is the headquarters of Telemundo.
Aarón Díaz, one of Mexico's most recognized celebrities, will be among the protagonists and said in an interview: "I am very excited to be part of a production that tells how Latinos live and speak here in the United States."
"It's a version for the millennial generation, in which the message is that you have to be authentic," explained Mexican actor Erick Elias, responsible for the role of Don Armando, a character who engages Betty and eventually falls in love with her.
As already mentioned, this series will set its story in the impressive stage of the "big apple" and will be broadcast in the United States in early 2019.
The cast is also composed of Argentinian Saúl Lisazo, Mexican actor Héctor Suárez, Puerto Rican Jeimy Osorio and Venezuelan Sabrina Sera. In terms of executive production, the manager is also the actor, Miguel Varoni.
