The Venezuelan Bishops' Conference (CEV) released a document Wednesday after its 110th General Assembly, in which it accused the national government of the crisis the country is going through and urged opposition leaders to propose alternatives for change. "The main culprit of the crisis we are living is the national government (& mldr;) that appears in front of the country as a victim of external and internal management. It is nothing more than the confession of its incapacity to manage the country One can not claim to solve the situation of a failing economy by emergency measures such as sacks of food and obligations, "says the document.
The CEV explains that In his view, the country is currently governed by a de facto regime and reiterated the illegitimacy of the "elections" of 20 May and the National Constituent Assembly.
The document stated that although there are political prisoners and opponents who are denied the right to present themselves, there will be no free electoral process sovereign
They also mentioned the phenomenon of migration and have described Venezuela as a "country of the dia spora "
" Those who have left, especially the young, are a human talent lost for the construction of our country. If the Venezuelan had a hope for the future, he would not have to emigrate. Venezuela is awaiting the return of its children to resume the path of healthy progress. "
They asked the various organizations of civil society and political parties to demand the return of sovereign power to the people by using all the mechanisms provided by the Constitution.
The Conference also invited the Armed Forces to remain faithful to their oath before God and the Fatherland to defend the Constitution and democracy.
They urged the military body not to be carried away by a political and ideological bias
