The jurors rendered a verdict in the case of a Southern California man accused of killing a family of four and having buried their bodies in the desert.

The San Bernardino County Attorney's Office announced Friday that the verdict in the case against Charles "Chase" Merritt, aged 62, would be read Monday in court.

Merritt is accused of killing his partner, Joseph McStay, McStay's wife, Summer, and the couple's 3 and 4 year old sons.

The family disappeared from their home in San Diego County in 2010. Three years later, their bodies were found in shallow graves in the desert.

Merritt was arrested in 2014. Prosecutors claim that Merritt killed McStay at a time when he was being cut off from his water treatment business.

The jurors began the proceedings last week.
