If you played League of Legends and while participating in the game’s latest story event, Sentinels of Light, you may have seen glimpses of Vex, the despondent, dark-clad yordle who plays a big part in the lore behind Viego’s rise to power. during the ruin of Runeterra. And now, Riot Games has revealed that they will be joining the fight as a playable champion in September.

“As long as everything goes according to plan, Vex should be released in September,” said lead producer Ryan “Reav3” Mireles. “We’re working on getting her power source – aka her shadow – right into the game, which is why she comes out a bit after the Sentinels of Light event.”

His “shadow” is his main source of power and will most likely be his weapon on the battlefield. She controls a large shadow looming behind her, which also helps her control the Dark Mist to take down her enemies. In the story of the Sentinels of Light, she works with Viego to help collect the various items that contain the soul of the ruined king’s lost wife, Isolde. She tells the Sentinels in the Freljord chapter that “a horrible and ugly world is the only thing [she] wants ”, and Viego’s victory would ensure that.

In the game, however, Riot has yet to perfect how he will reflect the power of his shadow. In the developer’s April Champion’s roadmap, Reav3 said the team “needs to create new technology to visually sell” its power source, which is its shadow. This is why his release has been delayed for so long. She was supposed to come out before Akshan, but Riot had to drop the Rogue Sentinel in her place.

League fans may soon see more and more yordle who hate happiness throughout the rest of Sentinels of Light history. Keep in mind that there are only two months until a shadow is cast over Summoner’s Rift. In the meantime, this ongoing event will last until Tuesday, August 10.
