Vicarious Visions is working on a Diablo 2 remake

The remake was originally the responsibility of Team 1, the group responsible for very disparaged Warcraft III: Reforged, before the project was finally transferred to Team 3 last year. Upon hearing the news this afternoon, social media was inundated with fears that Vicarious Visions would be taken away from its own plans only to disappear under massive Blizzard initiatives like World of warcraft and Overwatch. It remains to be seen if this is the best use of the studio’s talent after its success with Tony Hawk’s professional skater, this is probably a better result than many expected.
