Vice President Kamala Harris had a warm laugh on the Senate dais last week, when she had to refer to herself in the third person while swearing to her replacement.
The belly laugh has come a few moments after taking a seat for the first time as President of the now Democrat-controlled Senate, and after saying these words:
“The President tables in the Senate two Certificates of Election for the State of Georgia and a Certificate of Nomination to fill the vacant position created by the resignation of former Senator Kamala D. Harris of California.”
Obviously having fun, she burst out laughing behind her face mask as many senators and staff in the room joined in laughing and clapping.
“Yeah, that was very weird,” she said of the third person reference, laughing again before taking the oath of the new senators in the term.
