Victor Oladipo does not want a Pacers trade

What does Oladipo mean to Indiana?

Bob Kravitz, Indiana Columnist: After the Paul George fiasco a few years ago, that means everything to the Pacers. Fans here are going to be understandably suspicious; Oladipo is known to change his mind (see, The Bubble), so we’ll always wonder if he’ll stay true to his word. For now, however, Oladipo, who went from hero to zero in no time, is a hero again. The guy who used to point his finger at the ground and say, “My town!” has finally, happily acknowledged, that he wants to be a long-term Indiana Pacer. Surprising, yes. Shock would be a better word.

Can Oladipo still be the go-to guy for the Pacers?

Kravitz: There’s no doubt that Oladipo can get back in shape and be the Pacers’ best player, but in this team he won’t need to be an alpha. It’s a good deep team and players like Malcolm Brogdon, TJ Warren and Domantas Sabonis have shown they can carry the load if necessary. At the moment, we don’t really know how Oladipo will recover from his injury; he wasn’t much the same when he returned at the end of last season, but he has the skills and work ethic to go back to his old self – or at least shut down.
