GOP Representative Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina took office pledging to challenge President Joe Biden’s election victory.
Throughout the evening of the deadly Jan.6 riots on Capitol Hill, Cawthorn continued to challenge election results in Arizona and Pennsylvania, emphasizing electoral integrity and the Constitution.
however, during an interview on Saturday with CNN’s Pamela Brown, her argument for challenging the results collapsed.
When Brown asked Cawthorn for evidence to support the election fraud allegations, he couldn’t cite any specific cases.
“The things I didn’t oppose the election for on behalf of were things like Dominion voting machines changing ballots, or those U-Haul trucks arriving filled with ballots for Joe Biden as as president, ”he said.
“What I was arguing for was things like, like I said in the state of Wisconsin, specifically in the town of Madison … there was an appointed official in that town who went against the will of the state legislature and created ballot boxes. , which essentially consists of a collection of ballot papers that took place in the parks, ”he continued.

Brown reminded the 25-year-old congressman that then-President Donald Trump’s campaign pleaded several voting issues in Wisconsin and lost in court.
When Brown asked if Cawthorn had seen any specific cases of fraud, he couldn’t find an answer.
“So you wanted to cast millions of votes without seeing any concrete evidence of fraud?” Brown asked. “That’s what you were doing when you contested the election.”
Cawthorn then said he challenged the election “to delay the Constitution”.
After Brown told Cawthorn that his own state had changed election laws in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which was at the heart of his previous argument, he said he was unaware that North Carolina had changed the laws.

“Actually, I’m not aware of the laws that have been changed inside North Carolina,” he said. “I believe we had very secure and very secure elections here.”
Trump won North Carolina last November.
Biden won Arizona and Pennsylvania – states where Cawthorn fought certification of the vote. He was unable to formally challenge Wisconsin’s results as no senator showed up to challenge the state’s results, which Biden won.
By the end of the interview, Cawthorn’s previous fraud allegations vanished into thin air.
“Yes, I think I would say the election was not fraudulent,” he admitted to Brown.
He added: “The Constitution allowed us to be able to push back as much as we could and I did it to the amount of constitutional limits I had at my disposal, so now I would say Joseph R. Biden is our President.”
