Voters in Georgia lined up on New Years Eve, the last day to vote early in the second round of the Peach State Senate.
Polling station images posted on social media showed long lines of Georgians snaking around buildings seeking to beat traffic on polling day amid the coronavirus pandemic ahead of the January 5 run-off.

A woman from Cobb County told NBC Journalist Priscilla Thompson arrived in line to vote at 6:30 a.m. and waited an hour and a half before going to the polls.

More than 2.8 million people in Georgia have already voted either by mail or by early vote on Thursday.
According to the Georgia Elections Division, that number represents more than a third of all registered voters in the state.
The second round of elections will determine which party will control the upper house at the next Congress.
