[VIDEO] SNL: Dr Anthony Fauci Vaccine Game Show – Saturday Night Live

Faded away So you think you can dance? Saturday Night Live has a timely alternative to the Fox reality show.

The Late Night Sketch Series opened this weekend’s episode with So you think you can get the vaccine, moderated by Kate McKinnon’s Dr Anthony Fauci. In an attempt to clear up confusion over the coronavirus vaccine rollout, the game show parody gave five ordinary Americans (and one extremely unpopular senator) the chance to compete for eligibility.

To help determine a winner, Biden’s chief medical adviser introduced a panel of well-known governors: Gavin Newsom of California (Alex Moffatt), Andrew Cuomo (Pete Davidson) of New York and Gretchen Whitmer (Cecily Strong) of Michigan. . Asked how the Golden State is holding up a year after the start of the pandemic, Newsom replied, “White teeth, tight bodies, pretty bad COVID.”

Among the impatient candidates was a Michigander who voted for Whitmer to be kidnapped; a young woman so eager to meet her mystery man that she came (badly) disguised as an old man to deceive the judges; and Ted Cruz (Aidy Bryant), fresh out of his CPAC appearance. In an effort to win over governors, the Texas senator dabbled in standing comedy.

“I’m sorry if my arms are tired,” he said. “I just got back from Cancun, Mexico… Can you really blame a brother for wanting the sun?”

In the end, the judges came to a unanimous decision: the single dose would go to old Seymour Foreman … provided he knew how to book an appointment online. Otherwise, well… better luck next time!

SNL continued to recognize COVID-19 during the opening monologue. First-time host Nick Jonas was joined by McKinnon, Strong, Kenan Thompson and Beck Bennett for a melodic salute to Broadway, New York and everyone affected during the pandemic.
