VIDEO: Watch Calvin Johnson receive the news that he is a Hall of Fame member in the first ballot

It’s a special moment to announce to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. If you’re just the seventh wide receiver in NFL history to enter the Hall in their first qualifying year … that’s even more special.

For Calvin Johnson, that hypothetical scenario became a reality this week when he was inducted into the 2021 Professional Football Hall of Fame. He became the 22nd player to play for the Lions and earn this special designation, and the last Lions player since Barry Sanders.

As always, the player’s induction is announced by an in-person visit from C. David Baker, President and CEO of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Luckily the CBS camera crews were on hand for the time being, Megatron got the fantastic news so we could all watch.

We’re not all used to seeing Calvin Johnson show a lot of emotion, but understandably that moment was way too big, even for a man who is 6ft 5in tall.

Congratulations, Megatron. You are a legend.
