If you’ve been following the NFL lately, you’ve probably noticed the big deal between the Rams and Lions.
Some reports and rumors have suggested Minnesota might be interested in doing the same, but Vikings fans should take those with a grain of salt.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network went on the Pat McAfee Show and said something that went against those recent rumors (H / T Skor North). Asked about the Cousins playing on the 49ers next season, Rapoport replied, “I don’t feel that at all.
“I would never say that nothing is impossible,” said Rapoport. “As you know, this NFL world has basically taught us that anyone can be traded. This one, I would be really surprised for several reasons. First, I’m not sure it benefits the Vikings. And I’m not sure if Cousins is any upgrade from Jimmy G. When they’re both healthy and both playing, are we sure Cousins is such an improvement? for what will it cost?
Cousins has just completed his third season with the Vikings. He started off rocky but helped the offense grow into a high octane down the stretch. He’s always garnered a lot of contempt from Vikings fans, but with the way his contract is structured, it looks like the team will be stuck with him for the foreseeable future.
