The Vikings reshuffled the roster on Tuesday, moving a few players between the 53-man roster and the practice squad.

After being high off the practice squad in each of the first two games, quarterback Sean Mannion was signed to the active roster. Mannion was Kirk Cousins’ replacement in both games with third-round pick Kellen Mond inactive.

While Mannion spent training camp with the Seahawks, he was the Vikings’ alternate quarterback during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

As a result, Minnesota released running back Ameer Abdullah and re-signed him to the team’s practice squad. Because Abdullah is a seasoned veteran, he doesn’t have to accept a waiver to sign with the practice squad.

Abdullah was high from the practice squad in week one, catching a pair of 15-yard passes while running a four-yard run. While on the list of 53 players in Week 2, Abdullah played 53% of special teams snaps and just one offensive snap.
