Viola Davis on Michelle Obama’s role in The First Ladies

“I lost my mind for about five minutes and made a decision [that] I can’t take it back, “she said.” Woman is a goddess. Everyone knows her, everyone wants to protect her. Here’s the thing: I’m just gonna do my best [that] I can.”

Davis said she spoke to Michelle “for several hours” after learning she got the part – and it was very “terrifying”.

“Here’s the thing,” she explained. “Sometimes someone just doesn’t quite match the image you have in your head. But when they are up to the picture, it’s pretty scary. “

“She’s so cool,” Davis added.
