Three elephants fell in a pond dug for agricultural purposes in the village of Kanakundur, on the border of Chamarajanagar and Tamil Nadu, near the forests of Sathyamangala. While the three jumbos were walking through the forest, there was a mudslide due to heavy rains and elephants fell into the pond, which was quite deep. The elephants tried to get out but failed and started screaming for help. Village residents rushed to the scene and informed forest officials, who launched a rescue operation.
