The long-awaited findings of an investigation into how a racist racist picture appeared on the Virginia Governor's yearbook page, Ralph Northam, 35 years ago is expected to be released on Wednesday.

The McGuireWoods law firm conducted an independent investigation for a month on the photo of the 1984 yearbook page, which shows a black-faced person and another in Ku Klux Klan's costume.
The Northam office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News on Tuesday.

The photo was published by a conservative blog, Big League Politics, and provoked a violent reaction against the Democratic governor and called for his resignation. The case quickly touched other politicians, including Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring, who admitted to wearing a blackface at the university, and Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax, accused of sexually assaulting two men. women.

After resisting calls from political opponents and many members of his own party seeking resignation, Mr Northam said he wanted to focus his remaining three years on racial inequalities.
Since the scandal broke, he has been praised by black lawmakers for suspending driver's license suspensions for motorists with unpaid fines and for explaining how the country's rich racial history was taught in Virginia's public schools. .

The picture on Northam's 1984 yearbook page was one of three that contained blackface images that year. The school's leaders call it "shocking and odious" and commission an investigation into the school's old yearbooks and culture at that time.
Dr. Giac Chan Nguyen-Tan, a doctor practicing in Connecticut, said earlier this year that a page he had prepared for the directory had been modified before it was published without his knowledge.
