It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since the MTV Music Video Awards 2009 were awarded. And with the 2019 VMA at the turn, we take a look at some of the most important moments of the series on the cultural level.

The MTV 2019 VMAs will be broadcast live Monday, August 26 at 8am / 7am only on MTV. Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco will host the evening and Missy Elliott is expected to win the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award.
