In Sunday’s win over the Giants, Broncos linebacker Von Miller made a very strong comment about the impact quarterback Teddy Bridgewater had on the team. Recently, Miller regretted that the comment was revealed.
“I haven’t felt that for a while,” Miller told Bridgewater on the sidelines in the week one win, “been here for 18 years, man. “
18 is Peyton Manning. The Broncos have had plenty of other quarterbacks since then. For Miller, it’s now clear that none have been up to par.
“I kind of forgot I was on the mike,” Miller told reporters when asked about the comment. “I don’t like to put stuff in there. It was a moment for me and Teddy, but it’s over there. I don’t want anybody to feel a certain thing because I told Teddy that. I told Teddy the truth. He definitely has that home vibe that guys want to play for. Guys believe in Teddy. He’s a veteran in this league. He is seated behind Drew Brees. He was on track to win the MVP title with the Minnesota Vikings, so he knows how to do it. He behaves in a way that people want to play for him, and people believe in him.
Miller is obviously sensitive to the fact that: (1) Drew Lock has been one of the team’s quarterbacks since Manning; (2) Lock is still part of the team; and (3) Lock is an injury far from replay.
Miler raves not only on Bridgewater’s leadership, but also on its performance.

No coach on our coaching staff or the NFL can teach you how to do that. Teddy had to fight to come out and win for it. the football team. Here’s what it proves: If the Broncos try to put Teddy on the bench for Lock, the Broncos will have a problem in the locker room. So, look for Teddy to keep work as long as he is healthy. And look for other teams that had or could have made Bridgewater regret not keeping it.
