Clemson is college football’s most disappointing team

Wake Forest has been playing soccer for 114 seasons.
They’ve appeared in 15 bowl games during that time, which is a big feat in itself given their history. They have won a grand total of two ACC championships and have won 10 or more games in one season, once. Yes, that’s right – once.
So, heading into this season, the Demon Deacons have once again been picked to scratch rock bottom in the ACC Atlantic Division, ranked fourth in the conference preseason poll, just behind Florida State.
Ranked 25th in the AFCA Sports USA TODAY Coaching Poll this week, Wake Forest is now 5-0 after Nick Sciba scored a 29-yard field goal with 22 seconds left to beat Louisville 37-34. and has his first 3-0 conference starting in 10 years.
So what is the right start?
You can start with sophomore quarterback Sam Hartman. He threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday and continues to play solid football. Hartman completes 67% of his passes with 11 touchdowns and two interceptions for an offense that averages 38.4 points per game.
It is complemented by a solid racing game – by committee – with Judge Ellison, Christian Beal-Smith and Christian Turner sharing the load. The defense had also been strong heading into Saturday, allowing 14 points per game.
Another reason for success is timing. Wake has beaten Old Dominion, Norfolk State, Florida State and Virginia, which aren’t exactly among college football’s elite teams.
The remaining roster of deacons is manageable and they should be undefeated by the time they face North Carolina on November 6. However, the rest of the month is not easy with North Carolina State and Clemson, to whom they have lost in 12 straight games. .
Dave Clawson, in his eighth season, could work on a special season in Winston-Salem, NC and lead a disciplined team that doesn’t make mistakes and does enough on the defensive end to keep teams honest. .
Clemson’s streak of six straight division titles is in serious jeopardy.
