(Reuters) – US stocks opened higher on Thursday, mostly driven by gains in energy stocks, as hopes for lower interest rates boost optimism.

The increase of 32.11 points, or 0.12%, in the open air to 26,036.94.

The open rose by 6.40 points, or 0.22%, to 2,886.24. The winner gained 29.84 points, or 0.38%, at 7,822.56 at the opening bell.
