Walmart holiday drone light show launches in 8 US cities for the holidays

The holidays are about to lighten up.

Walmart aims to make the seasons brighter by launching a holiday drone light show in eight cities, starting in Kansas City on Friday.

The Festival of Lights will feature 1,000 Intel drones that will soar in festive three-dimensional shapes, including reindeer, gift boxes and snowflakes, Walmart announced.

The light show will be presented in Dallas and San Antonio, Texas; Doswell, Virginia; Phoenix; Charlotte; Sacramento; and Fayetteville, Arkansas, the company said. And the outdoor event will also have a holiday hit soundtrack ranging from “Frosty the Snowman” by Bing Crosby to “Run Run Rudolph” by Kelly Clarkson.

“After a particularly difficult year, we want to help families end the year on a high note. We want customers and communities to enjoy a moment of rest, peace and hope, ”said William White, director of marketing at Walmart, in a statement.

“From our summer drive-through to our fall games and Halloween experiences, we’ve found ways to help families enjoy seasonal traditions in a year they thought it wasn’t. maybe not possible, ”he added.
