Walmart announced Wednesday that it had redesigned the iconic vest worn by the sellers.

The chain of retail stores has put the brakes on their old style – "the iconic blue or green vest with a yellow spark Walmart" – after receiving feedback from its employees, the company said in a press release.

The majority of the new vests will be "a neutral steel gray" and will feature "a splash of color" on both the trim and the spark logo, Walmart said. The coloring aims to help make associates more recognizable in the tumult of the store, he said.

"The rollout will begin this year, with each Supercenter Market Partner and Neighborhood receiving one of the updated vests," Walmart said.

According to the press release, the jackets for Supercenter employees will be steel gray with a blue border, while Neighborhood Market associates will have a green border.

The style will vary for self-paying hosts in Supercenters, who will instead get "an upgraded yellow vest with a gray trim," the company said.

Walmart also made other changes to the jacket, especially with larger pockets. The company also stated that "every vest is made with Repreve, a fabric made from recycled bottles".

The company also criticized future opportunities for employees to "customize their appearance," which will be revealed later this year.
