WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. (WPVI) – A shooting in front of a Walmart in the Lehigh Valley injured two people Friday night, police said.

The shooting took place around 7 p.m. on the 2600 block of MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township.

Police said two people were shot outside the store.

Witnesses at the scene said the incident happened very suddenly.

“As I walk in, I hear something like a ‘boom, boom’. I thought it was a car exhaust or something, ”Qusai Muhasen from New Jersey said.

It seems that Walmart never closed despite the heavy police presence.

“As we pulled into the parking lot, we saw one of the Whitehall police cars come flying up to the main entrance here near TJ Maxx and then head towards Walmart,” said Scott Dias of Upper. Macungie. “Within seconds, we saw more than five or six police cars arrive.”

There is no word on the condition of the victims of the shooting.

Police have not disclosed any details about a suspect or motive.

This story has been updated to show that the shooting took place outside of Walmart.
