Walmart is now aggressively attacking pet owners.
The retail giant announced Tuesday that it plans to open several dozens of additional veterinary clinics in its stores across the country, as well as launch an online pharmacy that will deliver animal medications directly on your doorstep, in the hope of attracting millennial owners who spend more than $ 1,285 a year for their furry loved ones.

In a press release, the retail giant, which already operates 21 veterinary clinics in six states, has announced plans to increase the number to 100 clinics over the next 12 months.
The retailer said the change made sense given that 68% of US households own a pet and 90% of Americans live within 15 km of a Walmart store.
Nine new clinics are expected to open in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in late May and June. Clinics are considered affordable options, saving clients between 40% and 60%.

In addition to clinics, Walmart will also launch an online pet pharmacy called WalmartPetRx.com, similar to PetSmart's Chewy.com site, which will deliver pet medications directly to your door. Inexpensive prescriptions are available for dogs, cats, horses and even livestock to treat many diseases such as fleas, ticks, heartworms, allergies and arthritis.
Finally, its stores and online store will provide pet owners with organic and grain free options for their pets with health-conscious brands, such as Blue Buffalo, Greenies and Hill's Science Diet.
