Walmart would intend to deploy in its stores soil cleaning robots and stock replenishment

In short: In the United States, grocery stores are beginning to reduce their human resource needs by introducing sophisticated cash register systems, smart shopping baskets and now robots in their stores. According to new reports, Walmart will soon use robots to automate some of the most tedious tasks of its employees.

While the retail giant does not fully replace its paylines as Amazon did for the time being, it will use robots to "clean the soil, sort the stocks" and rotate inventory in his stores.

These tasks, although simple, represent a pretty important part of a Walmart worker's daily life. With thousands of customers entering and exiting each day from the same store, tasks such as cleaning, sorting, and replenishing inventory are almost full-time tasks.

Whatever the case may be, to begin with, Walmart will transport these new robots to 1,500 sites across the United States. Given that the retail chain would have about 4,700 stores in operation at the time of writing, this means that about 31% of them will have robots aids working alongside humans.

Of course, such reports still raise concerns about potential job losses. However, Walmart probably does not expect massive layoffs anytime soon; the company will probably need some time to test this technology and make sure it is worth it before making extensive staffing changes.
