Wan’Dale Robinson will (finally) be a Kentucky Wildcat.

Shortly after entering the transfer portal, the Frankfurt native announced he would be taking his talents to his Old Kentucky Home.

Just over two years ago, Robinson made a commitment to play for Mark Stoops in Kentucky. Western Hills High School Mr. Football changed his mind two weeks before signing day, preferring to play for Scott Frost in Nebraska. He made a small detour, but Wan’Dale finally found his way to the UK with the help of Stoops and Vince Marrow.

Robinson immediately adapted the billing of an All-American, setting Nebraska records for receiving and receiving yards by a freshman in 2019. He followed that up by leading the Huskers to receiving in 2020. In 20 College football matches, Robinson tallied just under 2,000 yards from the scrum and was a two-time finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, awarded annually to the nation’s most versatile college football player.

High school star, in his last football season, he scored 45 touchdowns in 11 games. Whether carrier, wide receiver, returner or defender, Robinson could turn any play into a touchdown. Now BBN will be able to watch him play at Kroger Field while potentially capturing the passes of a former district foe, former Lexington Catholic quarterback Beau Allen.

Robinson gives the Kentucky attack an immediate jerk of explosiveness after several seasons of wrestling in the air. A slot receiver that can mess people up, Liam Coen’s attack will target Robinson early and often. It cannot be quantified how much the addition of the creator of big players on offense will help the new player and the new quarterback in 2021.
