[ad_1]

Happy Friday all! While those first two weeks of 2021 have already seemed like a decade, there is a lot to look forward to in the weeks and months to come … especially when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine! But while we’re all waiting to get a shot in our arm – or to recover from the shot if you’ve been vaccinated before – we still need to be careful and stay indoors. Luckily, our favorite streaming platforms are always there to keep us company as we count the days to freedom inoculation. Whether you’re sifting through the options on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or all of the above, starting with the most recent titles is always a strategic decision. And if you want our two cents, here are our recommendations on what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.

New movies and shows to air this weekend: WandaVision, One night in Miami and The ultimate noise playlist

We’ve been waiting to talk about this weekend’s streaming releases for what seems like ages, so trust us when we say you can’t make bad decisions about what to watch. The first on Disney + is the premiere of WandaVision, the first MCU TV series that’s just as quirky and nostalgic as its titular characters. We never thought we would see Scarlett Witch and Vision together again! After consuming the first two episodes of this fantastic new series, head over to Prime Video where Regina King’s One night in Miami … is already generating a big buzz at the Oscars. If you’re in the mood for a more heartfelt YA movie, be sure to check out The ultimate noise playlist on Hulu. And we can’t forget Netflix, whose deals this weekend include Disenchantment Part 3, Empire bling, out of the wire and more. We told you we were excited! So check out some highlights from the great streaming movies and shows that we’ve listed below:

New on Disney + January 15: WandaVision

AHHHH IT’S HERE !! THEY ARE BACK!! We’ve been waiting for what seems like an eternity, but WandaVision, Marvel’s very first TV show, finally arrived on Disney + this weekend. Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany reprise their roles as Scarlett Witch and Vision as they live their eternity in these quintessential TV comedies. Cheese aside? You have it. Intrusive Support Characters – Is Kathryn Hahn at her best? You have it. The miniseries features a full lineup of classic sitcom tropes, including cheesy sides, laughter tracks, and that intrusive side character – Kathryn Hahn is at her best. But wait, ain’t Vision dead Avengers: Infinity War? How is he alive now? Find out in WandaVision, new on Disney + this weekend.

New to Prime Video January 15th: One night in Miami …

What if the greatest black players of the 1960s met and hung out for one night? It would be one of the most epic crossovers in history! This fantasy becomes reality in One night in Miami … the American drama film new to Amazon Prime Video this weekend. Based on Kemp Powers’ (Soul) of the same name, the film chronicles a fictional reunion of Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown and Sam Cooke in a hotel room in Miami in February 1964, celebrating Ali’s historic surprise victory over Sonny Liston. With Regina King directing and an all-star cast with Kingsley Ben-Adir, Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge and Leslie Odom Jr., One night in Miami… Should be an Oscar-worthy success.

New to Hulu January 15th: The ultimate noise playlist

New to Hulu this weekend is The ultimate noise playlist, a touching drama about a high school student who, after learning he is about to lose his hearing, takes control of his destiny by recording the Ultimate Playlist of Noise … and possibly hearing his late brother’s voice one last time. This movie with Keean Johnson (Midway) will surely pull your heart out as it reminds the audience to appreciate all you have, even the smallest of things.

New on Netflix January 15th: Disenchantment- Part 3

Our favorite animated satirical comedy is back in Matt Groening Disenchantment Part 3. The third installation of the Netflix original series picks up again with Princess Bean (Abbi Jacobson) and her demon Luci (Eric Andre) trapped in a strange underworld. As she struggles to find a way out, King Zøg (John DiMaggio) finds himself in his own tight spot, and her growing instability raises even more concerns about who will rule Dreamland. As one of the best new shows this month, Disenchantment Part three is sure to bring in the self-referential humor that we’ve all missed in the show’s absence.
