Marvel Studios announced that WandaVision will premiere on Disney + in January 2021 – a month later than previous reports suggesting the new Marvel TV series will hit the streaming platform in December. Marvel made the announcement for the official WandaVision release date in a new teaser, which features footage from Elizabeth olsen and Paul bettany as Wanda Maximoff and Vision, respectively, in their sitcom-inspired miniseries.

The internet has been full of speculation as to when we would have WandaVision ever since Disney + released a trailer teasing all of the upcoming titles before the end of the year, which included Marvel’s trippy miniseries. However, the recent teaser of the titles arriving on Disney + in November did not include WandaVision at all. But speculation returned following an Entertainment Weekly cover story teasing a winter 2020 release, as well as an image posted to Instagram by WandaVision Producer Dylan Klumph (who has since been deleted) is celebrating the end of production on the series and teasing its arrival in December.

But according to the new teaser released by Marvel Studios, WandaVision will premiere on the Disney + streaming service at January 15, 2021. The teaser features various images of Wanda and Vision in their happy suburban sitcom life, spanning the different eras, from classic 50s comedy styles to wacky 90s fashions. As the images scroll across a small screen analog television, the background also changes, reflecting the period. But something’s wrong: the entire image continues to glitch, and towards the end a piece of wallpaper crumbles, hinting at the grim reality this sitcom illusion may hide.

WandaVision borrows from the popular Marvel comic book storyline “House of M” by Brian Michael Bendis and Olivier Coipel, which follows the immensely powerful Scarlet Witch after suffering a mental breakdown after a tragic loss and creates a new reality to cope with.

Created and written by Jac schaeffer and led by Matt shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, reprising their roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Wanda Maximoff and Vision, respectively.

WandaVision premieres on Disney + on January 15, 2021.
