Get ready to listen to what is billed as Marvel’s Weirdest Show: WandaVision created not one but two episodes on Disney Plus on January 15. The show works the same as The Mandalorian by taking the relaxation spot at the end of the week.
After the initial drop of two episodes, Disney assumes more regulated programming, releasing one episode each week. This means we’ll have all nine episodes of the first MCU Phase Four series by the first week of March (don’t worry, there will be more Marvel content in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, first two weeks later).
Here’s the full release schedule for WandaVision:
- Episode 1: Available now
- Episode 2: Available now
- Episode 3: Available January 22
- Episode 4: Available January 29
- Episode 5: Available February 5
- Episode 6: Available February 12
- Episode 7: Available February 19
- Episode 8: Available February 26
- Episode 9: Available March 5
In addition to the first two episodes, Disney also released a story featurette that gave us a behind-the-scenes look and some clues as to what’s to come on Friday.
While the first reactions were enough positive at all levels, they are not quite the definitive quality indicator, because Wonder Woman 1984 proven. But it won’t be surprising if Marvel takes advantage of WandaVision’s wild premise.
Set after Avengers: Endgame, it follows Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, and Vision, living their best lives in a suburb influenced by the 1950s sitcom. But – spoiler – isn’t Vision dead in Avengers: Infinity War? Unsurprisingly, all is not as it seems, with the teasers all seemingly showing Wanda using her powers to build a reality to deal with her grief.
Episodes 1, 2 and 3 are half an hour long and emulate a sitcom format. But once the series unveils that build, episode lengths “will start to vary more, yes,” Marvel chief Kevin Feige told TVLine.
Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Teyonah Parris, Katheryn Hahn, Randall Park and Kat Dennings are the stars.
