WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen addresses House of M fan theory

Tomorrow will mark a week until WandaVision finally premieres on Disney +! Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are hungry for new content, and the series seems like just the right thing to get people excited for Phase Four again. There has been a lot of speculation about the upcoming series, with people looking for clues wherever they can. A few months ago, a fan noticed that a bottle of wine featured in the show’s trailer was labeled Maison du Mépris, which translates to House of Contempt in English. This has made people wonder if “House” and “Contempt” together are meant to refer to House of M, one of Marvel Comics’ greatest Scarlet Witch stories. In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, WandaVision Star Elizabeth Olsen was asked about the apparent Easter egg.

“This bottle of wine,” Kimmel said, pointing to the bottle on the screen. “It says House of Misery. It translates to ‘House of Misery.” Olsen scoffed at Kimmel, before adding, “Which could mean the series is based on the popular comic House of M, in which Wanda has a breakdown. “

Olsen has a lot of practice to avoid Marvel spoilers, so instead of confirming or denying the House of M rumor has it, she just praised “our accessory Russell”. Olsen teased him, “Russell would be a very, very smart man if he put this on.” Kimmel replied, “So no then? Interesting.” You can watch the clip below:

Read the official description of WandaVision here: “WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks Marvel Studios’ first series to stream exclusively on Disney +. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision – two overpowered beings living idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect that all is not what it seems. “
