WandaVision’s Elizabeth Olsen Pushed For The Classic Scarlet Witch Costume

Warning: there are spoilers ahead for WandaVision episode 4!

Yesterday the last episode of WandaVision confirmed what many viewers suspected from the start: The town of Westview is not a TV Land-inspired paradise, but an illusory prison created by Wanda. Despite this latest revelation, the series has yet to finish listing older sitcoms. With five episodes remaining in the show’s first season, there are other eras of television to pay homage to. And one of them will find sporty Wanda and Vision looks that should look very familiar to old-school Marvel fans.

As we’ve seen in the series’ trailers, Wanda and Vision will be donning their true-to-the-comic costumes in an upcoming Halloween-themed episode. And while speaking with Vanity Fair (via ComicBook.com), Elizabeth Olsen shared what it was like to honor her character’s classic look. At first, the outfit was not quite there. However, Olsen insisted.

“I was so excited!” Olsen said. “We have a Halloween episode and they were trying to figure out how we were going to wink at the character and it started with the classic Scarlet Witch costume. It was kind of like a gypsy thing that has to wear a blindfold and I fought for that. I was like, ‘No, we have to go all out… it’s like the best thing, if Paul does it, I do it. “

Olsen also hinted that the characters would wear these costumes for more than one scene.

“I’ve really been in the suit for a while,” Olsen added. “And it was so much fun. I loved it and it was the perfect way to wear this costume because you can’t take this costume seriously.

The fifth episode of WandaVision premieres Friday, February 5 on Disney +.
