WANDAVISION’s final farewell to UP music is deadly

Carl and Ellie Fredricksen’s ballad made one of the most moving film sequences of the 2000s. Pixar’s opening cut Up introduced us to the couple’s love story, ups and downs. More infamously, it ended with Ellie passing away. Thus, few have seen Pixar Up remembers her opening cut without words without shedding a tear. And this is largely due to his wonderful music, composed by the great Michael Giacchino.

Now this unforgettable score finds the new company of another couple whose love story ends too soon: Wanda and Vision. If you saw the final for WandaVision, you may have suffered another episode of vicarious grief. Well, enjoy it more! The TikToks below from artist stringbeans25 (which we found on The Mary Sue) combines two scenes from WandaVision with the music of Upis a touching intro. They will at least cause a big sigh. First up, Wanda’s breakdown of “Previously On,” the show’s penultimate episode.

And perhaps even more moving: the couple’s fateful farewell. Singing tones work especially well with Vision literally fading into Wanda’s arms.

Included between Avengers: Age of Ultron and Infinity war, we watched Wanda and Vision slowly warm up. They finally got engaged in the most unlikely romance, to say goodbye prematurely thanks to Thanos’ transgressions. WandaVision gave us more time with the couple, which allowed us to see them revel in each other’s company and quirks.

So that second – indeed, third – goodbye in the series finale was the most heartbreaking of the lot. And it becomes doubly so when it is accompanied by Giacchino’s composition of the Up opening. Certainly the Up music might even bring new weight to the Hulk by disparaging Loki like a rag doll. But maybe a more appropriate foray would be another goodbye to Marvel. Stringbeans25 also applied the Up music for Tony Stark’s farewell to Peter Parker at the end of Infinity war.

And yes, it is also a doozy. We haven’t realized it until now, but Marvel has really said a tough goodbye.
