Warner Bros. will be released Wonka on March 17, 2023, a prequel by Roald Dahl Charlie and the chocolate factory which focuses on the youth of the candy architect Willy Wonka before he had his confection empire.

The film has been in development for about four years. David Heyman has always been attached as a producer, and Paddington director Paul King is directing. This project is at the start and it will not run until the UK is locked down. Hope is for a shoot in September. No casting yet.

Paramount released the first original 1971 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory film with Gene Wilder in the title role, based on the Dahl classic. Warner Bros. had the remake of Tim Burton in 2005, Charlie and the chocolate factory, starring Johnny Depp in a weird Michael Jackson-inspired trick, which raised $ 475 million.

There is no other release date for March 17, 2023. Disney is planning March 10 of this year for an untitled live-action movie. Universal and 20th Century Studios both responded on March 24 with untitled event films.
