The bid for billionaire Warren Buffett remains open for a few days, but the price would have hit a record.

The 20th annual auction for a meal with the world's third richest person reached $ 3,500,100, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday, just two days after the start of the auction.

This figure exceeded the record price of $ 3,356,789 paid in 2016 and 2012.

The auction, organized on eBay, aims to raise funds for the Glide Foundation, which helps homeless people in San Francisco. Buffett began working with Glide through his first wife, Susie, when she volunteered for charity.

According to the website, the auction winner and up to seven of their friends will have lunch with Buffett at the Smith & Wollensky in New York City. The auction ends Friday.
