In an interview Friday at the radio show "The Breakfast Club," Democratic Senator in the Democratic presidency Elizabeth Warren was grilled about her previous claims of Native American ancestry.
Co-host Charlamagne Tha God asked Warren how she was told that she had Native American blood.
"I grew up in Oklahoma. I got to know my family in the same way that most people, my mom, my dad, my aunts and uncles, and that's what I thought. But I am not a person of color. I am not a citizen of any tribe and I should not have done it. "
Warren added that she could not go back and correct her mistake.
President Trump regularly mocked Warren about his claims of Native American ancestry, calling him derisively as "Pocahontas" at rallies and during interviews with reporters.

In October, Warren released a video highlighting the results of a DNA test revealing "strong evidence" of an Amerindian ancestor, but then apologized to tribal leaders for following the procedure and crediting the idea that tribal citizenship was simply about blood.
Later in the Friday interview, Warren was asked to clarify the timeline of his statements.
"How long did you keep this, because there were reports that you were a Native American on your Texas bar license and that you said you were Native American on certain documents when you were a Harvard professor?" asked Charlamagne Tha God. . "Why are you doing this?"
"So that's what I thought. You know, that's what I said, that's what I learned from my family, "said Warren.
"When did you discover that you were not?", The host said.
"Well, it's – I'm not a person of color. I am not a tribal citizen and tribal citizenship is an important distinction and not something I am, "said Warren.
"Were there any advantages to that?" Asked Charlamagne Tha Dieu.
"No, the Boston Globe has conducted a full investigation," said Warren. "It never affected, nothing in my family affected the work I've ever had."
"You look a little like the original Rachel Dolezal. Rachel Dolezal was a white woman who claimed to be black, "said Charlamagne Tha Dieu.
"No, that's what I learned from my family."
Dolezal, former president of the NAACP section, resigned from her post in June 2015 after being declared white by her parents.
Should Warren be elected to the presidency, or should she run for vice-presidency, her ancestral background will undoubtedly continue to be scrutinized.
