On Sunday morning, President Trump sent tweets to four minority women asking them to "return" to their country, even though three of them were born in the United States. This was not ignored by Warrior coach Steve Kerr.

Kerr, vocal critic of Trump, fought back Sunday evening to the president with a tweet imploring Congress to respond: "Come on, Congressmen, call the President for his racist tweets this morning. Show leadership. This is the job for which you were elected. "

Kerr retweeted other people who sentenced Trump on Sunday, including a writer from The Atlantic who called Trump a white nationalist. He also tweeted a photo of the 2018 book "How Democracies Die," which highlights Trump's authoritarian tendencies. "Add this to your summer playlist," Kerr said in the tweet.

Trump used a common trope among racists to attack the four women of color: Congress Women, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

"Why do not they come back and help repair the totally devastated and infested places with the crime they come from," said Trump's tweet. "So come back and show us how it's done."

Of the four, only Omar was born in another country (Somalia) and she became an American citizen in her teens.

According to the Washington Post, at least 90 Democratic Democrats of the House and newly independent Congressman Justin Amash denounced Trump's statements, more than half of them using the words "racist" or "racist". racism". But Republicans would not be kept secret. .

The New York Times reported Sunday night that no White House official nor any Republican in Congress would respond to requests for comment.

Kerr has already spoken about Trump and other political issues. At last year's NBA finals, he wore a "vote for our lives" t-shirt to plead for gun control after the mass shot in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Kerr and the rest of the Warriors also refused to meet Trump after winning the league championship. two seasons.
