Warriors are 7.5-point underdog for dollars for NBA Christmas Day game

The Warriors will face the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day in a game that will feature two of the NBA’s biggest stars, Steph Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo. While each side has a two-time MVP at the top of their roster, the betting public doesn’t have much faith in Golden State to secure a victory.

According to PointsBet, the Bucks are a 7.5 point favorite against the Warriors, making Golden State the biggest underdog of any team in the league on Christmas Day.

It’s no surprise that the Bucks are favored, considering they’re the home team and finished with the best NBA record in each of the past two seasons. Still, that’s a big gap against a team of Warriors who could possibly fight in the Western Conference.

Milwaukee would likely have been slightly favored even if Klay Thompson hadn’t been injured in Achilles late in the season, and clearly punters are concerned about Golden State’s ability to call without half the Splash Brothers. The fact that the Warriors are playing their first game in over nine months just three days before their clash with the Bucks probably didn’t inspire much confidence either.

The Warriors are 2-2 on Christmas Day over the past four seasons. In order to add another one in the win column, they will likely have to kick in at the start of the season.
