Warzone and Cold War get Mason Operator soon, new leak suggests

Black Ops fans can finally rejoice as Mason is expected to come soon as the operator of Cold War and Warzone.

When Black Ops Cold War first came out, fans were confused as to the location of an all too familiar face. Although Alex Mason is the protagonist of the original Black Ops and a major player in the Cold War, he is not yet on the list of operators.

Fortunately, it looks like we won’t be waiting too long for our favorite numbers-obsessed soldier. After all, a new Cold War game file leak reveals that Mason could be coming very soon.

And with Black Ops Cold War finally getting its missing character, Modern Warfare fans believe Soap is coming to Warzone soon as well.

Let’s just hope they don’t give Mason a horrible new look like they did with Soap.

Alex Mason Operator in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone

There is one notable character missing in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, but Alex Mason may be coming soon.

In the original Black Ops storyline, Mason is brainwashed by the Soviets in Vorkuta, becoming a sleeper agent. Implanted in his mind was the knowledge of interpreting the outgoing broadcasts of the Dragovich number station, alongside the goal of assassinating John F. Kennedy.

Throughout the story, Mason’s head is infested with mysterious numbers that would lead our heroes to stop an impending attack on Nova 6. And because of that, it’s up to Hudson and Weaver to interrogate the agent of the CIA to tell him what the numbers mean.

Now, it looks like other Black Ops Cold War and Warzone operators will question Mason further. Through a series of voice lines in the Cold War files, we can hear each operator questioning Mason about the numbers.

This could be part of the upcoming Nova 6 event in Warzone, something that most players have forgotten has never been disclosed.

This could also be part of the upcoming Zombies / Nuke event in Warzone Plague Mode.

New vocal lines in Black Ops Cold War season 2

As the Black Ops Cold War Season 2 Reloaded release date approaches, this may be when Mason will join the cast.

“The Mason numbers, what do they mean?”

The iconic line returns once again in Black Ops Cold War, it seems. It comes thanks to TheGhostOfHope on Twitter, which discovered a series of voice lines through datamining.

Even new operators like Samantha Maxis and the season 2 cast are joining in for questioning. This suggests that Mason will appear as the Operator soon, and possibly with a unique event.

It should be noted that the Game Show card in Cold War already refers to Mason. After all, the title in the show’s universe is, “What Do the Numbers Mean?”

Right now, players are upset that Cold War and Modern Warfare have the least amount of 6v6 multiplayer content in the series so far. But that may not be the case for too long.

After all, Call of Duty: WW2 Vanguard is already reusing its assets, possibly due to severe time constraints. And despite the arrival of a new World War II Vanguard Warzone map in 2022, we haven’t even seen much of the Cold War battle royale arena yet.

We do, however, have our first image of the new Warzone map which is due out in April.
