Warzone and Vanguard players relieved to learn pirate-filled beta doesn’t use new anti-cheat

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone players were a bit freaked out by the number of hackers invading the Vanguard beta – but there is good news. As shared by a reputable insider, the true anti-cheat has yet to be rolled out.

The situation with CoD hacking is hot. While the franchise titles were relatively unscathed in previous years, the transition to PC cross-play has meant a lot more hackers, notably impacting the Warzone community and CDL Challengers.

So there is a lot to be done on the release of Vanguard, as it is supposed to bring a new anti-cheat that CoD developers are very, very confident in.

But the Vanguard beta is here and there was no drop in pirates, leaving a lot of people concerned that anti-cheat isn’t living up to its hype. Watch out for insider Tom Henderson, who has comforted everyone and turned things around: no, the beta doesn’t use the next anti-cheat.

As Henderson explains, the beta version of Vanguard does not use the new anti-cheat. Instead, it’s still on the Warzone system, which unfortunately “has been compromised” (to put it mildly). While many remain skeptical about the upcoming security system, there is still some optimism and generally seems to be some relief that Vanguard’s anti-cheat wasn’t the one that was torched during beta.

There are a lot of hackers out there and that’s not ideal, but it would be even worse if the new anti-cheat was cracked so quickly. So this is good news and bad news – the good news: there’s still hope for Vanguard’s anti-cheat, the bad news: dude, cheaters have had a busy day with the metrics current security.

So far the situation of pirates in Warzone and the Vanguard beta continued to be a mess. The latter has only been around for a few weeks, but hackers are already end games on a whim and sell tips at absurdly low prices.

But, sometimes you have to look on the bright side. It’s annoying that there are hackers out there and an effective anti-cheat isn’t already available, but at least we’ll go from that compromised anti-cheat to a new (and hopefully better) one. in November.
