Failure enter and leave Call of Duty: War Zone like stray cats in an abandoned house, but invisibility has caused gamers more headaches than most. And despite the past corrections, Call of DutyBattle Royale players once again appear to be getting shot by opponents they can’t see, this time thanks to the game’s mysterious new red doors.

Season 4 of the game went live in mid-June, adding, among other things, mysterious red door portals dotted around the map that transport players to special high-value loot rooms.

“Please tell me I’m not losing my mind, but have you all seen the guy?” »User NosajnessBTR wrote in a thread that exploded during the weekend on the War zone subreddit. It includes a short video clip in which the player is sprayed with bullets seemingly shot out of nowhere until he dies trying to escape. But Killcam footage reveals that the assailant was actually standing right in front of them the entire time. “I was just playing looting trying to improve my groza and I ran into this guy,” NosajnessBTR wrote.

It’s not clear if this is a new bug or the reappearance of an old one, or how prevalent it is, but Reddit user Lma0-Zedong, who War zone manufacturers Raven Software contacted on July 15, claimed that this was one of four issues that have been around for some time. “2 are related to Red Doors (one of them is not possible to reach it solo), 1 to PS Sessions (Plunder and BuyBacks only) and 1 to Loadout / Cash Crates,” they wrote. in the comments of another invisibility video. posted last week. “I explained how to do all 4 of them to Activision but there is nothing stated about this in the patch notes.”

Activision Blizzard did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

YouTube is already fill with videos purporting to show players how to exploit the latest versions of the invisibility bug, including the one that uses red doors. For the red door invisibility issue in particular, players have to cook a grenade, grab an ATV or dirt bike, and go through the red door portal almost simultaneously. The timing has to be perfect or it won’t work, but as shown in this video explaining the problem, the results can be devastating.

Invisibility issues, such as bugged vehicles and broken weapons, are a recurring problem in War zone. While they don’t ruin the game for most players, they do lead to a lot of frustration and fun videos for those who encounter them. Last December, the players were crash helicopters to become invisible. More recently, players were abusing a “Rook” skin for operator Roze to be almost impossible to detect in dark places. Raven made the skin shine a little to lessen its impact on the gameplay, but why bother with the camouflage if there is a way to go completely invisible?
