Warzone developers react to loading of broken Famas insta-kill shotguns

Warzone Season 5 introduced perhaps the most powerful weapon in battle royale’s short history as players began to realize the true potential of a ridiculous new loadout of FR 5.56.

Burst weapons have rarely had their time in the spotlight throughout Call of Duty history. Warzone didn’t turn out to be any different as players often opt for rapid-fire SMGs or devastating LMGs instead. However, there is a new tactic that quickly changes that tune.

The FR 5.56 assault rifle has been available for some time but has never really found its place. With the likes of Grau and M4A1 dominating the meta, there was no reason to trade in anything new. However, a devastating loadout for the Burst Rifle might be your class of choice until a new patch is rolled out.

While the standard use of the weapon is decent, it won’t help you achieve a victory. It’s the under-barrel attachment that appears to be broken in the Season 5 update. Here’s how players use the weapon to instantly kill in Warzone.

Underbarrel Shotguns can be attached to most ARs in Modern Warfare. They provide an alternate means of fire when enemies get too close for comfort. Typically, it takes a few hits to detonate an enemy up close with the lower barrel. But, on the FR 5.56, this damage is apparently ridiculously magnified.

Opponents with full health and three plates of armor in Warzone can be killed in a single hit with this combination. It’s as powerful as a sniper perfect shot or rocket with pinpoint accuracy, but you can keep firing multiple times without needing to reload.

Up to 15 meters away, this accessory can insta-kill anyone in Warzone, according to popular YouTuber’s tests’TheXclusiveAce“.

“I don’t think it’s intentional,” he said after examining the weapon. His guess is that Season 5 improved the range of the base FR 5.56, and that this buff was also transferred to the sub-cannon.

Players have already rushed to use the weapon in its broken state. From top banners to competition veterans, the load is already leaving its mark on Verdansk. He even featured heavily in FaZe Swagg Summer Invitation Event. HusKerrs was able to close five quick attacks with just five shots to secure an early lead in the competition.

Infinity Ward a address the problem, but not yet provided a clear indication of when it will be resolved. The range on the sub-barrel should be brought back to its original state and the FR 5.56 will likely fall back in the rankings again.
