Warzone Devs Ban 50,000 More Accounts Before Season 5, Tease Anti-Cheat

Raven Software has confirmed that over 50,000 Warzone accounts were banned just days after the community boycotted the game for its lack of anti-cheating.

The game is going through a kind of slump lately, with big streamers like NICKMERCS, Dr Disrespect, TimTheTatman, and others leaving it behind in Apex Legends. In fact, Doc even started his own game studio with the intention of creating a rival AAA title in the future.

Some streamers have argued that boycotting Warzone may not make a difference in developers’ approach to anti-cheating, but one thing is for sure – they are handing out lots of account bans.

This is precisely the problem the creators face with the title, as these hackers can theoretically just create a new account and continue to cheat.

Warzone Season 5 is just a stone’s throw away.

On August 11, Warzone’s development team announced another massive wave of a 50,000-person ban – according to their social media page.

Along with that, it looks like they are committing to some sort of anti-cheat in the future.

They said, “Most importantly, we are listening and working hard behind the scenes. We will have more information for you soon.

In what has been a whirlwind of a few weeks for the gaming community, where some have moved on to other battle royale titles, it will be good news to see Raven tease an announcement soon.

They hope that many hacking issues go away soon enough that they can get back to normal.

With CoD Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 5 starting August 12, it will be interesting to see if the developers drop any details before or after the start.
