Warzone players battle Roze “pay-to-win” skin • Eurogamer.net

Call of Duty: Warzone has had an issue with its “pay-to-win” Roze skin for some time – but at the moment it seems more popular than ever.

Last year, the Rook skin was sold as part of the Season 5 Premium Battle Pass (this was a level 100 unlock) and it didn’t take players long to get it. accuse of being a “pay-to-win” microtransaction. The problem is with the look of the outfit – it’s all black with no reflective surfaces, which means it’s very difficult to spot in dark areas of the game. Even Roze’s eyes are surrounded by black paint.

Anyone who has played Warzone knows that there are a lot of dark areas on the map. Playing battle royale solo can seem like a particularly fun time. Add to that Roze’s Rook skin, and you may find yourself in situations like this:

Roze’s Rook skin has been a problem since its release, but it recently made headlines after being used by participants in the high-profile $ 250,000 Twitch Rivals tournament (the one that led to accusations of cheating).

Warzone solos are more toxic than League of Legends. I played 4 games and each enemy wore Roze’s all black skin. All but one had been sitting in a dark corner the entire time and did nothing until I joined them.

Currently, Call of Duty players are surfacing clips of All-Out War against players using the Roze skin – even teams full of them.

I don’t think it’s likely that Activision will remove the Roze’s Rook skin from the game, given that it was sold through the premium Battle Pass. But current Warzone Guardian Raven Software is now under pressure to change his appearance so that he is seen as balanced for the battlefield. Perhaps it will be banned for tournaments.

The saving grace here is that this Rook skin currently cannot be purchased as it was a Season Five Battle Pass reward. Will Activision be selling it through the in-game store at some point? If they did, it would likely make a kill.
