9:32 p.m. PT – The police now say that there were 3 people shot outside the stadium … and not 4 as they initially said.
A law enforcement official told reporters their initial investigation showed 2 cars were involved in a shooting … leaving 3 people injured. One of the injured was a woman attending the baseball game … who was hit by a stray ball.
Police said 2 other injured people later entered a hospital … and are currently being questioned by investigators.
The police are still trying to locate the second vehicle involved in the shooting.
Terrifying moment outside Nationals Park tonight during the Washington-San Diego Padres game … after several people were shot, DC police say.
The game was suspended in the 6th inning … after a shot near the 3rd base entrance of the baseball stadium.
Washington DC Police tweeted 2 victims were outside the stadium … and 2 more entered hospital with gunshot wounds. The cops also say there does not appear to be an ongoing threat.
It is not known if the shooter is in custody.
Videos circulating on social media show a scary scene … with panicked fans fleeing the area.

Several big bangs were heard inside the stadium … and some fans started flocking to the exits. Other supporters rushed onto the pitch … without knowing where the threat came from.
Some players were seen running from the field, in the canoe and in the tunnels.
There are reports of an active shooter near Nationals Park in Washington DC

The Nationals public address announcer asked fans inside the stadium to stay calm … explaining that the “incident” happened outside.
The team released a statement addressing the situation, saying … “Tonight’s game was suspended late in the 6th inning due to an incident around Nationals Park.”
The state of the victims is not yet clear.
The game – which the Padres led 8-4 – will continue tomorrow afternoon.
