A high-resolution version of a scene from Zack Snyder’s Justice League seeing Superman in his black suit has been posted online.
One of the elements omitted from the theatrical cut of Justice League was Superman’s black suit, which the character will sport in the upcoming director’s cut. Now a high-resolution version of a scene featuring the Man of Steel in the suit has been released, which also sees Superman meeting Alfred.
As the scene begins, Alfred is working on a car when a booming sound is heard above his head. Superman, now dressed in the black suit, lands and walks over to the amazed butler, simply saying, “I guess you’re Alfred.”
Snyder recently opened up about why he chose to use the Last Son of Krypton’s black suit for his cut, describing himself as still “a very strong advocate of the black suit.” Snyder said that using the suit made sense to him because “Superman is a notoriously non-growing character. He’s like a rock and everything crashes into him,” adding that we are learning about ourselves. “trying to change something that is immutable.”

The black suit was introduced in the “Reign of the Supermen!” scenario. Superman: Man of Steel artist Jon Bogdanove designed the costume, while Action comics artist Jackson Guice made his debut in Action comics # 689.
