Adele took to Instagram on Saturday and surprised fans by playing a clip from her upcoming single, “Easy on Me.” The short preview had heartbreaking words like, “And there’s hope in these waters, but I can’t bring myself to swim when I’m drowning in this silence, baby let me in.” Adele playfully cut the song a minute later saying, “That’s it, that’s all I’m going to play.” But that short minute was enough to get us even more excited for the full song’s October 15 release.

During her question-and-answer session on Instagram, Adele said she would no longer rap the “Monster” verse, despite the many requests she had had, calling it a “one-ride pony.” She also expressed her support for #FreeBritney and shouted at other musicians she is a fan of, such as Beyoncé, Doja Cat and Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift has been said to have brought forward the release of Red (Taylor version) to make way for Adele’s latest album; However, there is still no official release date for Adele’s album. No matter what tricks these performers have up their sleeves, we’re thrilled the two ladies have us falling in love and crying this fall.
