Angel Olsen released "Lark", the second single of his next album All mirrors. It is accompanied by a video directed by Ashley Connor. The clip was shot in Asheville and Outer Banks, North Carolina. Look below.
Angel Olsen said in a press release:
"Lark" is a song that took several years to complete. The disjointed
the feelings and verses of this song started to make sense to me
exercise a kind of journey through mourning, a kind of
fight. The message of the song develops first from an argument
I've had a time with someone on trust and support. Later, I shot
recurring themes in my life as a musician and dreamer
to live. It's easy to promise the world to those we love, but
What happens when our dreams change and our values separate?
Ashley Connor adds:
"Lark" is the cathartic version we all ask for but we rarely get, a
hymn to scream at the top of the hills or at the back of a truck or
just in the privacy of our own home. We cried on the beaches, we broke
bones, wet, rolled in the grass, dancing around a fire with friends
and given a lot of hugs – a proper exploration of each broken
heart we have ever had.
"Lark" is the title of opening on All the mirrors, followed by Olsen LP 2016 MY WIFE. The record was directed by "All Mirrors", who also had a video clip of Connor. The album should be released on October 4th via Jagjaguwar.
